MESSAGE FROM THE 6 & FIX PRESIDENT

As stay-at-home orders are beginning to impact several of the counties we serve, we wanted to reassure local residents and businesses that 6 & Fix Heating & Cooling will remain open to serve our community.

Under the Presidential Policy Directive 21 (PPD-21), we are listed as a critical infrastructure service provider, therefore we will continue to provide all of our services.  During this time, we will continue to follow CDC recommended best practices to keep our staff and customers safe and healthy.

Warmer weather is approaching. We aim to continue to work hard everyday to keep our customers comfortable in their homes. Should you find yourself in need of air conditioning services or would like an indoor air quality assessment of your home, please call us at 919-234-7596 for service. We have local staff handling the phones from 8 am to 6 pm, 7 days a week.

Below is our plan for updated business process moving forward:

HEALTH PROTOCOLS

We will be following cleaning protocols recommend by CDC and state agencies. Any team members that have fever, are showing signs of sickness, or who have been known to be exposed and not protected will be asked to remain at home. We will be implementing additional cleaning techniques by our field staff in between each service visit with our customers. Sanitation wipes are critical to clean our hands and tools.

SERVICE CALL PRECAUTIONS

We are open and running service calls to homes and businesses. We want to be available in case of emergencies and make sure we keep our customers safe and comfortable at home. However, we need to take caution to protect our team members and make sure they stay healthy as well.

When you call in for service, our staff will be asking if anyone in the home has a fever, has been diagnosed or has had known exposure to the virus. We need to know this information so that we can be proactive with our team’s response and level of protection.

In most cases we can troubleshoot equipment from outside, in a crawl space, or in attics and basements with minimal face to face contact. We will be following protocols to maintain a safe work environment by wearing gloves, wearing masks if needed, and disinfecting work areas in the home and in our trucks after each call.

You may be asked by a technician to speak via phone or video and we may ask that you help control the thermostat inside while we are stationed at the equipment. We ask that you work with us so that we may provide the services needed while doing our part to limit physical interaction.

MAINTENANCE CALLS

We will be running maintenance calls during this time. If you are scheduled already, we plan to come though you are welcome to reschedule. We will call before coming and go over any precautions that we need to discuss. As mentioned above, we can often work on equipment with minimal contact. Please be aware that as part of the maintenance visit we intend to change out your air filters. We will ask that we use your trash canister to dispose of old filters that were used in your home.

System maintenance is still very important and does not need to be put off for too long or ignored all together.

OBTAINING SIGNATURES FOR WORK

Our normal process is for repair work to be approved via signature before beginning work. In order to reduce contact, we will be suspending this requirement at this time so you will not be asked to sign a phone or tablet by our team. Our repair quotes can be emailed for approval and obtain electronic signature.

PAYMENTS

During this time, we ask that all payments be made by electronic means, via debit card, credit card, or 3rd party financing, if possible. Our online invoice portal is available for you to pay online. However, we WILL still be accepting check payments at this time.

MEASURES WE ARE TAKING FOR OUR TEAM

Some of our team members may be working remotely from home and therefore our internal communication may not be as smooth as we would like. Please be patient with our team so that we can take the best care of you and all of our customers.
Technicians already work in isolation for most of the day and are not exposed to large groups during work. We will be limiting face to face interaction between our office team members and field team members.

FUTURE UPDATES

We plan to work using the mentioned precautions until further notice during these uncertain times we are facing as as global community. We will send out communications via email and social media if our operating plan changes.

We greatly appreciate our customers and team members here at 6 & Fix Heating & Cooling. We understand the value of trying to reduce the spread of this virus so that our healthcare system is not overwhelmed. We are confident that we will be able to handle our customers needs as quickly as possible while keeping our staff safe and healthy.
